Frequently Asked Questions
Before Booking
While we adore animals, pets aren’t permitted at our retreats.
For pet-friendly accommodation, my dad’s stays — George’s Apartments #1 and #2 on Airbnb — are a great option.
You can also book local pet sitting with Ana from Big Nose Australia, a qualified dog behaviourist and vet nurse offering trusted doggy holidays in Marion Bay. Our own dog happily stays with her when we’re away.
All three of our properties — The Glamping Tent, Tiny House, and The Sanctuary — are designed exclusively for adults. Each retreat offers a peaceful setting where couples can slow down, reconnect, and enjoy quality time away together. To preserve this atmosphere, our stays are adults-only, and we’re unable to accommodate infants or children.
Yes, this is a strict rule, and no exceptions will apply sorry.
We offer one bespoke Glamping Tent, designed exclusively for one couple at a time — a private retreat created for rest, romance, and connection.

We know sometimes you can only sneak away for a quick trip. While we do have a 2-night minimum rule, depending on the property and the date requested, we may be able to accommodate you with a one-night supplement fee.
Yes!
There is main's power in the Glamping Tent, and a power board at either side of the bed.
The solar at the Tiny House can handle a CPAP machine (it just can't handle anything with a heating element). There is a power point either side of the bed.
There are power points either side of the bed at The Sanctuary.
Mobility
If mobility is a concern, please note the following:
Glamping Tent
Accessed via a single step onto the deck, with living, sleeping and bathroom areas all located on a mostly single level, including the shower. Parking is positioned directly in front of the deck for convenient access.
Tiny House
The loft bed is accessed via a ladder, which may not be suitable for all guests.
The Sanctuary
Steps lead up onto the decks; however, once inside, the layout is flat and easy to move through with no internal level changes. This includes a step-free shower. While this may suit some guests with limited mobility, it may not meet all accessibility needs. We recommend viewing photos and videos online or contacting us directly to discuss your requirements.
Sensory
The Tiny House and The Sanctuary feature dimmable lighting, while the Glamping Tent offers naturally softer, low-level lighting.
On request, we’re happy to remove reed diffusers from bathrooms.
All three properties are set in calm, quiet environments — ideal for slowing down and switching off.
Getting Around
Marion Bay and Dhilba Guuranda–Innes National Park offer experiences suited to a range of abilities. Guests can enjoy scenic drives and lookouts, or choose shorter, more accessible walks around historic mining sites, jetties, lighthouses, shipwrecks and coastal viewpoints. Longer walking trails are also available for those seeking more active adventures.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions — we’re always happy to help you find the best fit for your needs.
Optus and Telstra get great signal in Marion Bay. Vodafone now gets signal as well!
Each of our three adults-only retreats sits in its own private pocket of Marion Bay — individually positioned to offer a completely different perspective of the landscape. From peaceful grasslands rich with wildlife to tucked-away coastal blocks within walking distance to town, every property has been thoughtfully placed to feel secluded, spacious, and uniquely its own.
No — Marion Bay isn’t serviced by public transport. A private vehicle is needed to reach the area and get around comfortably.
Not at all. When you book The Sanctuary, the hut and all surrounding spaces are yours to enjoy in complete privacy.

During your stay
The Sanctuary features an indoor fireplace and outdoor firepit.
From this winter onwards, the Tiny House will also include an outdoor firepit, along with gas heating indoors.
Outdoor firepits can be used during the cooler months when fire restrictions are not in place.
South Australia’s Fire Danger Season typically runs from November 1 to April 30, during which outdoor fires are not permitted.
The Glamping Tent site currently doesn’t have a firepit.
When conditions allow, guests may enjoy a beach fire along Marion Bay’s shoreline (please check current regulations and local restrictions before doing so).
Smoking isn’t allowed inside the properties, but we ask if you choose to smoke, you smoke away from dry vegetation, and butt out safely, and dispose of your butts.
Glamping Tent
The Tent is located on the back of my dad’s property, behind his two-storey home. The setup is built on the secluded rear section of the block, giving you complete privacy and your own private access. Tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and surrounded by trees, it feels like your own hidden retreat.
Tiny House
The Tiny House is set on a beautiful 50-acre property, where we lease the location of the Tiny House. The owner’s home is located at the entrance to the property, a long way from the Tiny House, so you’ll feel completely tucked away in nature with plenty of space to yourselves.
The Sanctuary
Nestled on two acres of private property, The Sanctuary has its own dedicated driveway for easy access. Guests enjoy exclusive use of the full acreage, creating a spacious and secluded retreat.
Glamping Tent
Yes, there are lights and a power point in both the bathroom and kitchen. You’ll also find bedside lamps and a power point inside the tent — this is glamping after all, not camping!
Tiny House
Yes, the Tiny House is fully powered by solar. To keep things running smoothly, we ask that guests avoid using high-draw appliances such as hair dryers, straighteners, curlers, electric shavers, Nutribullets, or toasters, as these will drain the system.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary runs partially on solar and has full power throughout, with no restrictions on appliances. It also features split-system heating and cooling for year-round comfort.
Glamping Tent
The Glamping Tent offers a cosy, back-to-nature stay. Hot water bottles and extra blankets are provided for cooler nights. During warmer months, a pedestal fan and EvaPolar personal cooling unit help keep the air comfortable, while mesh screens on all openings invite Marion Bay’s natural sea breeze and keep mozzies out.
Tiny House
The Tiny House is comfortable year-round, with indoor gas heating and hot water bottles to keep things warm in winter. From this winter onwards, an outdoor firepit will also be available for use during the cooler months when restrictions allow. In summer, a wall-mounted loft fan and portable bladeless fan downstairs keep the space comfortable, with fly screens on all windows to capture the coastal breeze.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is designed for all-season comfort, featuring a cosy indoor fireplace and outdoor firepit for the cooler months (when restrictions allow). In warmer weather, split system air conditioning and ceiling fans keep the space light, cool and comfortable.
Yes, we rely solely on rainwater, which means we also ask for you to please be extra conservative with your usage.
